meaning of 'As a way'
Hi friends and teachers,
i am wondering what does the "as a way" mean?
For example, Walking as a way of life.
Notetaking as a way to stay smart.
I can guess what the mean but i need to get clear definition to avoid by misunderstanding.

Hello, wq.denis.
(1) This is only my opinion:
(a) Walking as a way of life =
To make walking part of your daily activities, just as eating, sleeping,
watching TV, etc. are. A wise man once said:
The best doctors are Dr. Right Foot and Dr. Left Foot.
That is, walking is a natural exercise that will do wonders for your health.
I will not name the country, but I read that about 20 years ago, that
country was very poor and there were almost no buses. So most people
had to walk (walking was a way -- style -- of life), so it kept most of
the people slender. Today, economic conditions have improved with more
buses and cars. The result? More people who need to lose weight!!!
(b) Notetaking as a way to stay smart. I think that this means that
taking notes is a good method to help you learn more. It is important to
write things down on paper so that you will "stay smart" (not forget
what you have learned). A wise man once said:
The weakest ink is better than the strongest memory.
THANK YOU
