Help!Emergent! Is the use of "scary" ok? Hi,
In the following sentence
It's very scary to hear ghostly voices at midnight.
Is the word " scary" accepted here?

For the particular example, I would use the passive form and say "I'm scared to...". That's just me though. I don't know what the teachers would think of it.Last edited by HaraKiriBlade; 17-Jun-2005 at 17:18.

If we change it back into its original form,
To hear ghostly voices at midnight is very scary.
It works just fine. So, I'll be changing my view: It's fine.
'frightening' works too.
