feel the draught
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?
“Did he go bust?”
“I don’t think so, Curtis. Must have felt the draught a bit.” (Marsch’s “Surfeit of Lampreys”, chapter VII)
feel the draught = been on edge; in strained circumstances
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V.
