flush a tiger
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence? May I know which of the mentioned three synonyms fit to the present case?
Boggley Wollah is situated in a fine, lonely, marshy, jungly district, famous for snipe-shooting, and where not infrequently you may flush a tiger.
flush = startle, spring or rouse
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V

Re: flush a tiger
I'd assume that this would be to hunt it.
