Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentence?
We have to pay big graft to keep our franchise
graft = the practice of offering something (usually money) in order to gain an illicit advantage
franchase = a business established or operated under an authorization to sell or distribute a company's goods or services in a particular area
Thank you for your efforts.
