getting me into this class
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
You know, I want to thank you for getting me into this class…
get somebody into something = to advice, persuade or force someone to do something
for getting me into this class = for my accepting in this class
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V

Re: getting me into this class
It means more like 'for facilitating my admission to this class'.
