    Default Hyphen

Following the deduction of liquid assets, a minimum of 51% of the subfund assets must be invested directly or indirectly in bonds denominated in freely convertible currencies, notes and other fixed or variable-interest debt securities and debt claims of public issuers which are constituents of the Index referred to in the Prospectus.

Should there be a hyphen after "fixed"?

    Thanks!

It's what's called a 'hanging hyphen' - disapproved of by most style guides. But the fact that it's against house rules doesn't mean you should just get rid of it (and leave the reader to work out what the link is), although that's what many people do (though generally not writers who have to sort things out when customers don't understand a document ['If we don't have time to do it right, where are we going to find the time to do it over?'])

Rewrite: for example 'interest rates (both fixed and variable)'.
