i would like to know whatt idioms may i use in a condolence letter, for eg to express what type of person he was,or how i express my grief etc etc.
If it's formal, use something like 'commiserations' to express your wish to share grief. I would recommend just saying how you actually felt about the person, rather than trying to be formulaic when dealing with the character of the person who has died.

Is there anything I can do for you right now?...
