I would like to know if "swear in the public place"(speak foul language) is acceptable in American English?
    Thanks.

Would it be acceptable in the 'international' language of Wonderland?

"Swear in a public place" or simply "swear in public."

Of those two, I prefer the second one: Swear in public.

(Not that I think people should do so! )

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
