take down/ turn against
Dear teachers,
Would you tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentence?
Marissa has an argument with JR over his plan to take down Scott and turn Colby against him.
take down = ring from a higher position to a lower one
turn against = become or make antagonistic to
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V
