hi!
Good day!
I'd like to ask a few questions.
1. Is 'each other' a reflexive pronoun? HOw come it doesn't end in self/selves? Also, I undertstand that the subject must match the object. In such case, I'm afraid it's not.
2. Gramatically speaking, we say 200 cattle. HOwever, I have read that it is also possible to say 200 head of cattle. Is it grammatically correct? HOw about 200 heads cattle?
thank you so much!
have a blissful monday!
1 Not really- it has a different meaning:
They looked at each other.
They looked at themselves in the mirror.
It's reciprocal rather than reflexive.
2 I'd say '200 heads of cattle'- I wouldn't omit 'of'.![]()
Hello, tdol!
May I ask you this?
Is '200 head of cattle' or '200 herds of cattle' correct, not '200 heads of cattle'?
Thank you very much.
You can use head/heads, but 'herd' is different- it's a collective noun. You'd have 1 herd of cattle, comprising 200 head(s).![]()
Thank you very much, tdol!![]()
