Hegemony is a lived process. Hegnomic ideas do not circulate freely in the air above people's heads; rather they have a material existence in the cultural practices, activities and rituals of individuals striving to make sense ofthe world around them.

Hegemony is the superiority of one segement of society over an other. Read up on Marx if you have time. Call it social structure, call it class or caste. It is a grown and growing process.
