leanded down a kind of catch
Hi teacher:
I am not sure of the meaning of the bracketed phrase. Would you please give me a hand?
It were in the summer of last year, and hot. I were trying to dig up te roots of that big oak stump near the hogpen and [when I leaned down a kind of catch], a misery come suddenly in the samll of my back.
Thanks a lot.

Re: leanded down a kind of catch
'Catch' sounds like the moment when something breaks or goes wrong with bones or joints.
