Hello,
In the MPAA film rating system, How do I understand the differences between mature audiences and adult audiences?
Thank you very much.
I think the whole rating system is a bit complicated and differs from one country to another. Even here in Canada, ours is a bit different from the US one. Generally speaking if you are viewing an adult movie, it's a sexually explicit movie dealing with erotic material only. Those movies are either rented out from video stores or you can buy them. A movie with mature subject matter is intended for adult audiences because of the nature of the language being used (swear words), violence scenes or sexually explicit scenes. When you rent a movie like that, it will actually tell you what to expect and it'll break down the rated material to the actual number of all those scenes.Originally Posted by english-learner
