dear teacher,
when do we use, the auxiliaries "have had" and "had had". This is bit confusing for me because with out them we can easily explain what we want.
for example, " i have a nice and wonderful day" or " i had a pleasant weekend"

Structure:
Person + have or has + past participle of the main verb +(Other words)
We don't know when an acction hapens in the present perfect. We know that the action was before the present
Had had is past perfect
I had had a dog
Structure:
Person + had (past of have) + past participle of the main verb + (other words)
Past perfect is used for expressing action that happen before the past.
