dear teacher,
i want to know what is the exact opposite of the sentence "yankees played well". Should it be, " Yankees played badly" or something else. I want you to tell the antonym of adverb "badly". Is it "worse" or adjective "Bad".
kind regards,
zaffar

You can say: "The Yankees played badly," "The Yankees played poorly," "The Yankees didn't play well," or "The Yankees stunk." The verb played should be modified by an adverb.
