Hi there!

Imagine you have asked your children to clean the house when you're at work and now you're back home. What would you say?
What is the difference between the following sentences?

1. Are the windows cleaned?

2. Have the windows been cleaned?

They're OK, but as you want them to do it, I would use the active - Have you cleaned the windows? - to emphasise that it is their responsibility.
