it was a lot of fun
How should I understand "it was a lot of fun" underlined in the sentence below?
Thanks in advance.
A recession becomes a depression when things get so bad that a country’s GDP drops by more than 10 percent. The last time that happened in the United States, we called it the Great Depression — and not because it was a lot of fun.
Re: it was a lot of fun
It's ironic; it wasn't fun at all.
