A favorite play of the computer criminal is the 'salami' technique which involves the alteration of instructions which can be used to change interest payments to accounts.

Not being a computer criminal-- I hasten to preface-- I can only presume that one can adjust the amount of interest (money earned for money lent) which is deposited into a financial account (repository of funds adminstered by a bank or other financial institution)-- either to unlawfully increase the interest deposits into one's own account, or to siphon off some of each interest payment from another's account.
