Would you please tell me the difference between these words?
Aeroplane is the British word for what Americans call an airplane. Plane is a shortened form of either word (I don't know if Brits use it, but Americans do). This is like the word taxi which is a shortened version of the words taxi cab which itself is a shortened version of the words taximeter cabriolet.
Isn't language fascinating?
