    Default dissolution

    Dear teachers,

Would you help to me to make the proper choice of the word in bold in the following sentence?

There were sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution.

dissolution = the extinction of life in the human body; separation of the soul from the body; death

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

I suppose it must mean death. I don't know anybody other than Poe who would use the word in this way.
