move/ owing to
Dear teachers,
Would you tell me whether I am right about my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?
I move that the question be put to the vote.
I move (that) nominations (should) be closed.
I move that the discussion should be stopped owing to the late hour.
move = propose, put forward, make a motion
owing = because of
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V
