Would again Hi,
I have another problem with the word "would".
"That must be the best pirate I have ever seen." And reply: "It would seem so".
Why is "would" used here? Why not "It seems so"?

Teacher Re: Would again You could omit it. It could also be a comment on the expression on the person's face- I'd say it if the person with me couldn't hide their emotion.
