pang
Dear teachers,
Would you share with me you opinion concerning the usage of the “pang” in the following sentences?
Suddenly she felt a pang of pity.
She felt pangs of conscience.
Before I know where I was a pang of jealousy struck me.
I felt a pang of guilt about the way she was treating him.
pang = fit, attack, outburst
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V

Re: pang
Though I have never read nor heard 'pang' used in that sense, I fully understand the phrases. The meanings are clear. My favorite, 'pangs of conscience.'
