Default functions of an adverb

Dear Teacher,
Our teacher told us to reaserch on the other functions of adverb. We were not able to search for that because the only thing that placed on the internet is that the adverb modifies a verb. We asked our teacher about it but he didn't replied to us. So I was able to acces this site and had a little information that teachers here helps us on their study. So this is my question, what are the other functions of adverbs aside from midifying a noun?

All the best,
