    Default I am well ???

    Regarding " I am well ", may I know if ' well ' is an adverb or adjective ? It looks like an adv from my point of view because it is used to answer a question starting with ' How '

    Q : How are you today ?

    A : I am well :)

    I wonder if my definition is correct ?

    It is an adjective in that sentence because copula verbs don't take adverbs- the word describes the subject and doesn't modify the verb.
