Mind you, even when corrected it's still odd as it implies that Germans and Austrians are a temporary solution until they can get some Europeans.

I am not so sure.

For the time being they are hiring Germans and Austrians. Then they will hire French and English people. And then, when all their offices are opened they will hire people from the other countries of Europe.

How about:
For the time being, they are just hiring Germans and Austrians.
Or (and I think this works better)
At the moment, they are hiring Germans and Austrians.

Without something to qualify it, there is a problem because they are Europeans. They might want to widen things out, but at the moment the sentence doesn't work for me.
