Dear Teachers,

Could you please tell me which title for a procedure is correct? The procedure purpose is to make a claim to the Insurance Company when employee suffers disability.

1. Submission of diability to the insurance company procedure.
2. submission of disablement to the insurance company procedure.

Or there is a better way of expressing the title for this procedure?

Please help as much you can..

It should be submission of disability claim to the insurance company.

(The procedure consists of the steps followed to process the claim. A claim can only be submitted to a company, not a procedure.)

We wouldn't call it a title but a name. A procedure is an intangible thing, and such things are not given titles. Try:

• Could you please tell me the right name for this procedure? It is the process of making a claim to the insurance company when an employee suffers a disability.

You need to have the indefinite articles (a, an) in front of employee and disability.

Thanx Ronbee. I have further procedures’ names that require your assistance. Kindly please correct where necessary to ensure the procedure’s name correspond to the purpose.

1. Payment of Contribution to the Employee Provident Fund. (Purpose: It is the process to make monthly contribution from the Employees’ remunerations to the EPF.)

2. Renewal of Master Policy (Purpose: It is the process to renew the master policy upon the expiration with the insurance broker in order to continue the insurance coverage.)

3. Insurance Coverage for Relocation of Equipment. (Purpose: It is the process to purchase insurance from the insurance company to provide insurance coverage when equipment is relocated from one place to another)

Use payment or contribution, but not both. Say either payment to the EPF or contribution to the EPF.

I'm having a lot of trouble with that one. There are a couple of things I am sure of tho.

Instead of process you should say policy. Another term that is used is standard operating procedure.

Am I right that it is not an insurance company but a company dealing with an insurance company? I think you need to say something like this:

• It is standard operating procedure to have the insurance broker renew the master policy on the expiration date.

3. Insurance Coverage for Relocation of Equipment. (Purpose: It is the process to purchase insurance from the insurance company to provide insurance coverage when equipment is relocated from one place to another)

How about:

• It is company policy to purchase insurance from the insurance company to provide insurance coverage for equipment that is being moved from one place to another.

While a company might relocate, equipment is moved. (English is a funny language.)
