Hi,
Can a computer be equipped with an anti-virus?
Thanks.
I am not an English teacher, but a computer can be equipped with anti-virus software or an anti-virus program.
Thanks to you dear posters. Is there any more informal, or common term used instead of equip? How about kitting it out with ...?
Cheers!
I think the verb install is used more commonly than equip in this context. Is there any more informal, or common term used instead of equip? How about kitting it out with ...?
Anti-virus software is the ideal term.
So,
A computer can have anti-virus software installed.
You can also use "preinstalled" or "preloaded" instead.
The computer is preinstalled/preloaded with antivirus software.
The hyphens "-" are optional.
