Default adjectival noun

Hello Teachers,

1. I would like a table in the corner.

I have to rewrite this sentence in this way

I would like a corner table.

I want to know what kind of transformation this is.

Can anybody give some more example.

Thanks.

Default Re: adjectival noun

Hello Hanuman

The noun 'corner' from the adverbial phrase 'in the corner' is used attributively in 'corner table', i.e. as if it were an adjective.

Bye,
MrP
