Default Chinese correspondence

Dear Tutor,

Does the phrase "Chinese correspondence" denote "Chinese equivalent / translation" in any way? Thanks!

Not to me. What's the context?

Thank you, tutor! It is just my coworker's rough translation. Forget it.

'Forget it' can sometimes bear rather rude connotation. I'm sure you didn't mean it, but just so that you know.

Thank you!

I didn't know that before. But how comes "forget it" has rude connotation? I thought it just meant "Please put no more time or energy on it."

It seems that "forget it" sometimes means refusal, but doesn't it have the meaning I meant to express?
