Just curious -- is there a standard for writing time in formal manuscripts?
Am editing a book and am wondering if the time of day should appear 3:35 A.M. or three-thirty-five in the morning or some other way.

The more technical the writing, the more likely I'd be to use 3.35 AM. ;-)
Thanks for the info! The book is primarily narrative and not technical. Most of the books I edit are non-technical books.
In the one I'm editing now I put down: "I awakened around two or three in the morning and by six A.M. had received most . . ."
I wonder if it's proper to mix the writing time out and the A.M. Of course, when using the A.M. and P.M., I believe both should be in smaller sized fonts, right?
WDYT?
Again, thanks for the info --
Sandra :-)
