    Which below is correct?

    1) Study on something
    2) Study of something

    A little more context would be helpful. Is 'study' used as a noun or a verb here?

    Oh, sorry.

    It is used as a noun here.
    So,

    1) we will conduct a study on something
    2) we will conduct a study of something

    By the way, is there any difference in the usage of the word when it is a noun or a verb?

    Of appears to be far more common than on. I feel no difference in meaning between them.

    The verbs takes a direct object: I am going to study the mating habits of beetles.
