    Question for or from

    Hi all,

I have this sentence which I am confused with which preposition to use.

    1. "She then sold them and earned $5.25 for each book."
    2. "She then sold them and earned $5.25 from each book."

or should the whole sentence be re-constructed? Personally, I felt that it should be

"She then sold them and earned $5.25 for each book sold." or
"She then sold them and earned $5.25 from the sale of each book."

But that would make the sentence sounds a mouthful with 2 "sold" used. Please help!!

If she sold the books for $5.25 each, say "She then sold the books for $5.25 each".
If she made a profit of $5.25 on each book, say "She then sold them and made (a profit of) $5.25 on each book".
