Article for strategy,
Hi,
Is an article required before ‘strategy’ in the following sentence, and why?
On one hand I feel like the second instance of 'strategy' is referring to the first one, on the other hand I feel it sounds better without an article.
The company has embarked on a strategy of becoming a global player… This shift in strategy is likely…
Thanks,
MG.

It's a shift in strategy in general, not just this particular strategy. No article is needed.
