I've made this into a new thread, as it's a fresh question.
A person excuses him/herself from a thing: "He excused himself from that morning's lessons because [I can't think of a vaild reason. ;-)]". So you could say soimething like 'Vera excused herself from Dino's presence/party/house...[whatever]'.
