Hello Robert, Your help enabled me to create the following senteces. Are they correct?
It's been a long since since we went to see some movie.
I met her a long time ago when she visited Merry Land.
I did not look it better to talk on the issue for long.
Or it'll be correct to say " we have met after a long time"
There is another qouestion. As u said it is a correct to say" I will go shopping"
because here shopping is a "Gerund". I want to know if "go" accept "Gerund" because there r some particular verbs that accept Genrud such as like, hate, love mind etc. Actually i never see "Genrund" with verb "go"
Thanx.
It's been a long since since we went to see some movie. OK
I met her a long time ago when she visited Merry Land. OK
I did not look it better to talk on the issue for long. No- try 'I didn't think it would look good to dwell on the issue
Or it'll be correct to say " we have met after a long time" - This is possible, but it would depend very much on the context. Normally, the past simple would be used.
Go + gerund is used for activities not place- go fishing/swimming/ shopping
Go + to is used for places- go to the pool/the shops, etc

The word go functioning as a gerund would look like this:
Going would be much more advisable than staying.
