What does this sentence mean?
Hi,
What does this sentence mean?
The builders are behind on this project, or I can't take time out.
Thanks a lot

The two parts of the sentence don't seem to be connected at all.

I agree, but perhaps the context could show us the connection. Unfortunately, we have no context.

If you want people to take the time to answer your questions, you might take the time to cut and paste, thus avoiding the inconvenience. It's not too difficult - I've just done it:
behind on . Late with; not progressing quickly enough with. For example, The builders are behind on this project , or I can't take time out or I'll be too far behind in my work .

Re: What does this sentence mean?
If I put in quotation marks, you can see that your original sentence is not in fact a sentence.
behind on . Late with; not progressing quickly enough with. For example,"The builders are behind on this project" , or "I can't take time out or I'll be too far behind in my work" .
