Default right reason

I could not find "right reason" in any dictionary, and I am not sure what it means in a sentence like "they identified it as being right reason". Any idea what this could mean?

Default Re: right reason

Sounds a little odd to me. Correct reasoning? 'The right reason' makes sense-- it means the appropriate rationale.
