Default on the song or in the song????

"There are singers from different countries on the song."

Is it "on the song" or "in the song"?

It's an odd sentence. I wouldn't say either.

I was wondering what preposition is used.

    ostap.
If this is a recording with a lot of people performing on it, I would tend to say: "There are singers from different countries on the track (or record, or recording)" .. rather than on the song. But certainly "on", not "in".

Is it a regional difference? Rover KE said he would use either.

No, he said he wouldn't say either. Neither would I, so I gave some alternatives that I would be more likely to say.

I've removed my previous post since I've misread Rover-K's message. Sorry!
