Default meaning of "creat a dip "

This is an extract from a manuel and the underlined "creat a dip" makes me wonder what it really means. Please help me.

It should only be used by advanced reef aquarists to dose iodine as well as to creat a dip for corals and their allies.

    Thank you in advance.

The verb is presumably 'create'. The meaning of 'dip' isn't clear from the context, but presumably an aquarist would know; perhaps it's a solution that you can dip corals into, to make them more decorative. But the use of 'allies' suggests thart the corals are still alive...

I imagine you can use a dictionary. The only thing stopping you might be knowing that the singular is 'ally'.
