Are these sentences correct:
1-I don't want to remember all of my past. I want to forget the ugly and remember only the beautiful.
2-I don't want to remember all of my past. I would like to be able to take out the ugly out of my memories and keep the beautiful.
Aren't "the ugly" and "the beautiful" too abstract and general to be used in a context where one is talking about one's own personal memories only?
