Angry use of phrase

sir,
i want to know what this phrase means
---the schoolmaster is abroad----
and how to use it . thanks

"abroad" means overseas.

It could also possibly mean that the schoolmaster is moving around the location; in other words, the students had better be careful and behave, though this is a failry old usage of the word.
