Default Difference between "has to do with.." and "has SOMETHING to do with.."?

    Hello.

I was stuck while I was studying the phrasal verb "do with"
    The book says:

"When you say that one thing has something to do with another, you mean there is a connection between the two."

I understand that. But what I am confused about is that I sometimes see sentences of this kind that do not contain the word "something."

    For example,

"Her statement has to do with last week's accident"
"Numeracy - it has to do with Maths, but what is it really?"

Both sentences do not contain the word "something." So my question is, is it okay to omit the word "something" in this phrase verb? or are those sentences the examples of the wrong usage?
    Thank you for your help.

    AL

I'm not a teacher. And you do not need to include the word "something" in those sentences for those sentences to be correct.
