Thanks for your help. | To supplement Juan's comment: in spoken British English, for instance, the second syllable of 'angel' is scarcely voiced at all. It would be very difficult to sustain it through a note of any length, if you pronounced normally. So you find that BrE singers often extend the second syllable unnaturally and give it almost as much weight as the first.
