Color lights
"The stage is illuminated by special color/colored lights."
I think "color" and "colored" are both possible, depending on what the author meant to express. "Color lights" means that the lights emit various colors, whereas "colored lights" means that the lights themselves are colored (e.g., a light bulb might be colored). How would you explain the difference?

I doubt if I would use "colo(u)r lights", I would use "colo(u)red".
