proper nouns

Is a year a proper noun ? (1968)

When it is written out the year is often capitalized.

Many capitalise decades- the Seventies, but others don't. It's an unclear area. I wouldn't capitalise generally. ;-)

The consensus is (and I agree) that we don't capitalize years.
