Does "job" mean a work or surgery or something? "nose job" 's job doesn't come to my mind easily.

ex)...being snub-nosed was part of how Socrates was, but it wasn't essential to what or who he was. In other words, take away Socrates' rationality, and he's no longer Socrates, but give him plastic surgery, and he's Socrates with a nose job.

Yes. It's quite common, except in formal language.

I am not a teacher.

"Rhinoplasty". There is also the boob job---"mammoplasty". I don't think there are any other such "jobs" in cosmetic surgery.

Though it's a less common operation, I have heard chin job used in the UK.
