    Default Demographic estimations

Please, check if the following passage is grammatically correct. Thanks

Demographic estimations predict that in fifty years the population of the Middle East will grow from about 330 million people to about 450 million people, which means surpluses of manpower estimated at tens of millions which will be impossible for the economies in the region to support. As opposed to that, Europe's population has been ageing and, according to estimations, in fifty years Europe will need about fifty million foreign workers to maintain the European economy and its social service systems.

It looks OK to me except that people is redundant on both occasions.
