If someone has 'gone missing', nobody knows where they are; they cannot be found.
So, that is the same as "Maiami boy has gone missing", isn't it?
"Present Simple" is used instead of "Present Perfect" as a common rule in US?
Anyway "has gone missing" sounds redundant for me unless
"has gone = has missed", so that would be "has missed missing"...
Miami Boy Goes Missing was probably a headline. The present simple is frequent used in headlines.
'Go missing' is a common, if not particularly formal expression. There is no redundancy there.
